D’var Torah- Ki Tavo
In the first Parasha of our academic school
year, we begin to close the book of דברים the last book of the Torah. In
these final Parashot we go over the laws that Hashem gave us, and about the
gratitude that is expected from us towards Hashem for obvious reasons. Back in
biblical times, the Jews had much to be grateful for; being freed from slavery,
food and water, and many other blessings that Hashem granted the Jews. Today,
we have plenty to be thankful for as well. Over the past 7, this year 8, years,
I have been given the opportunity to go to this amazing school, that gives me
the education I need, if not more, long-lasting friendships and relationships,
not just with your classmates, but also students in grades above, and below us,
and even teachers, and chances that I would never get in a public school, and
that is 100% guaranteed, color war is only one of hundreds of different
examples. I could sit here and talk about everything god has given me all day,
but I chose to talk about this school because if it weren’t for Hashem sending
me to DJDS, I wouldn’t be sitting here, in this wonderful class, talking to you
all about this. Giving back to Hashem is crucial, but it is even more important
that you realize what you are giving back for. Thanks for listening; let’s make
this another great year. Shabbat Shalom.
